Who We Are

Tangle Magazine is an Australian volunteer collective bringing artists and writers together to produce cohesive multidisciplinary work. We are currently developing the tanglings of contributors that will become our first issue, to be squeezed into existence in Meanjin and Naarm in 2027. We’re always looking for eager, open-minded creators, in our cities or abroad.

What We Do

We tangle individual creatives together to conceive unique printed works that integrate visual art and the written word. Maybe it’s a poem in a painting, maybe it’s a comic strip, or maybe it’s a form that is yet to be thought of. We work with this tangling over weeks or months to develop the piece until it’s ready to go in the next issue of our magazine with the other tanglings we’ve developed. Our output celebrates the collaboration of creatives unwilling to be bound by form.
